Carpeting is a textile floor covering generally made from wool or a man made fiber such as nylon, polypropylene or polyester. Carpeting can add comfort, style and warmth to a home. Historically the word 'carpet' was also used for table and wall coverings, as carpets were not commonly used on the floor in European interiors until the 18th century.
